Short History
This is the home of the Nieth who are its rulers. The species doesn't care about the events in Essos and Westeros as long as they don't affect their home. It was only when R'hllor threatened the peace of the continent that a few Nieth ventured outside the safety of Sothoryos.
At one point five factions of Nieth fought to the point of creating a temporary desert. After the land had healed they decided to create a grand illusion to make foreigners think that the desert still existed. The illusion makes people think that there is still a desert and urges people to go back from where they came.
In one reality they went to Westeros and formed an alliance with Rin.
In another they only went to Essos and failed to find the rogue Nieth.
