A Second Chance
Barristan Selmy was about to be killed by the Harpies when he was suddenly transported away. He went forward into the future and to Westeros where he quickly met Rin. He was shocked to learn what had happened with Daenerys Targaryen. He agreed to join Rin's side against her once being convinced of the truth.
Forgiveness
Rin blamed Selmy for Jorah Mormont contracting greyscale and so it took awhile for her to become comfortable with him. She eventually pushed away her illogical hate and offered him the position of Lord Commander of the Queensguard.
He accepted and died while still holding the title.
TRIVIA
-I was thinking of bringing Stannis Baratheon back to life as I wanted to see how Rin and him would act with each other. However, Selmy won out because I found he was better for Rin's character arc.
