Short History
There are three continents with their own histories. Sothoroys has remained uninvolved with the other two except when hunting for R'hllor and after the War for the Dawn when they helped Westeros rebuild from the devastation.
Essos is the home of the dragonlords which include Houses Targaryen and Kaari. It is so large that most humans will never know all of its mysteries.
The Targaryens invaded Westeros and established the rule of the Iron Throne. It is also on Westeros that the dead, lead by the Night King, attempted to kill everything living.
