Importance:
Jorah Mormont had gone to Melisandre for help. After he and Jon Snow had killed the Night King, the dead did not die. Instead the White Walkers fought amongst themselves to decide on a new leader. Tormund went with the knight to find the Red Priestess to perform a spell to kill the White Walkers.
Mere moments before her death, Melisandre declared Ser Jorah Mormont Azor Ahai. He did not believe he was the legendary hero until he picked up Heartsbane and it burst into flames.
Even though it seems certain Jorah is Azor Ahai, Melisandre has used tricks before.
"Because you are Azor Ahai." Melisandre replied and looked at the sword. "And for the first time I think we all have misread the prophecy. We have all seen what we have wanted to see. That is the danger with such prophecies."
