December 2018 Book of the Month

Book of the Month isn't intended as a book club thing. Instead, it's a way for me to suggest books for you to read. Sometimes the books will have impacted me greatly and other times they'll be what I've read recently. If you would like to use my Book of the Month as a reading club, though, feel free to.

The Book of the Month is Animorphs #2 The Visitor by K.A.Applegate.

The summary from Amazon:
Rachel is still reeling from the news that the Earth is secretly under attack by parasitic aliens known as the Yeerks. And that she and her friends -- five kids who, purely by chance, stumbled onto a downed spacecraft and were given the power to morph into any animal they touch -- are the planet's only defense. But Rachel's always been something of a daredevil. So when it's suggested that they infiltrate the home of their assistant principal, Mr. Chapman, who also happens to be a human host of the Yeerks, she volunteers. But what she finds inside may be more than even she can handle.

Yes, let's return to Animorphs and end the year on a high note. I adore the cover on this book and this style sadly won't be seen anywhere else in the series.

Rachel's character is one that seems to confound some people. On the outside she seems tough as nails and nothing can stop her. Yet the good majority of her books focus on the inner conflict that she hides so well.
