HISTORY
Before the Fic
Most information remains the same. Jon's history (minus name change) deviates from canon sometime after he has retaken Winterfell.
Alliance with Daenerys Targaryen
Jon Snow heard about Daenerys Targaryen and decided for one reason or another, to visit her. At first it was a solid alliance but then things turned deadly for Jon. In the Targaryen's madness she believed Rhaegar's son would try to usurp her. He found himself imprisoned in the Eyrie by House Arryn.
Freedom
Jon awaited execution day and night. When all hope was lost, Rin Kaari took over the Eyrie by only killing Lord Robin Arryn. She then told him the truth of his heritage and offered him a political marriage. She wanted to do this to symbolically repair the divide between House Kaari and Targaryen. She also needed his seed to continue the Kaari bloodline as, without him, her House would die with her. She also legitimized him as a Stark. Jon agreed to the political marriage even though Rin was already married to Jorah Mormont.
Soon after he attained freedom, Daenerys Targaryen attacked with her army. In the fighting Tyrion Lannister, who rode Rhaegal, was killed. Due to Jon's Targaryen heritage, he was given Rhaegal.
Battle of Bear Island
After winning victory at The Vale, he went back to Winterfell. There he, Rin, and Jorah rested. They knew they would soon have to go to Bear Island to stop Daenerys from destroying House Mormont. It was during that time that Jon started fulfilling his duties as a husband to Rin. Upon having sex, though, the Kaari experienced extreme pain and had to lie down afterwards.
As Rin wasn't dying, they left for Bear Island and were accepted by Lyanna Mormont. Before Daenerys attacked why the Kaari had experienced such pain was answered: the mixture of Kaari and Targaryen blood had made Rin lay eggs. They were the next stage of the Kaari.
During the battle Jon fought while on Rhaegal's back. He took in all the lessons that Rin had taught him. After the battle, Jorah and Jon decided to consummate their affections that had been slowly growing ever since they met.
Dead Family Members Found Alive
Jon Stark, Rin Kaari, and Jorah Mormont headed over to Castle Black when news of Bran Stark reached their ears. Not only did they find Bran but also Benjen Stark. It is at that time both Jon and Rin find out they are related as Benjen is her father.
While Jon was conflicted about finding out Rin was his cousin, there was still a war to fight. They took all the dragons and most of their riders beyond the Wall to find the Night King's army. The only loss was Viserion and Arya Stark, his rider, nearly perished alongside him. Jon and the others had to quickly make their way to Castle Black in case the Night King was able to resurrect Viserion.
After finding a place to stay after the fight, Jon made love to Arya for the first time. In the morning both Rin and Jorah gave their blessings for the coupling.
End of the War
Rin had made a promise to Chl'lor to kill R'hllor and so had to leave Westeros for a little time. During that time both Jorah and Jon lead the war effort.
As the fighting went on Jon was captured by the Night King. Rin came too late to rescue him. Jon was killed by the Night King shortly before the war ended. As soon as the fighting ended, Ghost refused to leave Jon's side.
TRIVIA
-Daenerys Targaryen was already involved with Yara Greyjoy. Added to all the plots and sub-plots of Crossing the Divide, it was easier to exclude any mention of Jon and Daenerys hooking up.
-Jon was the last male to carry the Targaryen name and the House died with him.
-Jon's Direwolf is Ghost and is with him during the course of the fic.
-Rin and Jon had nineteen eggs together.
-Rin and Jon being related wasn't something I originally planned. Once I had decided on who Rin's father would be, it was impossible to not having her marry Jon. Accidental incest, folks.
-Ghost staying by Jon's corpse was inspired by The Dark Tower series by Stephen King.
