Physiology
Dragons are reptilian. They have two wings and four legs (two in the front and two in the back). They are exclusively fire breathers. They can vary greatly in size from large leviathans to cat sized.
As adults dragons breathe fire. Due to certain genetic abnormalities, some dragons have achieved breathing ice, water, ect. but never poison.
Raising
Dragon eggs are extremely hot to the touch. Only with magic can one hold them in their hands. Unlike wyvern eggs, there is no growth so no need to cut.
Hatchlings are extremely violent but calm down as they age. This makes it so that only specialized people tend to work with hatchlings.
Connection to Riders
Riders are usually humans in the present day as dragons tend to avoid Horngul.
Unlike wyverns, there is no psychic connection between rider and dragon. Dragons are also so common to most of Jorn that there is no pride in owning one. Some rich families will own a flock or two as common pets.
This isn't to say that their military use is unheard of. For those wishing to fight on dragon back there is extreme pride in choosing a dragon and raising it. Sometimes a dragon is passed off through inheritance in the more military-centric families.
