War for the Dawn
Jon Stark and Daenerys Targaryen had sex while on the way to White Harbor. Soon after they both felt their feelings towards each other diminish and ended the relationship on good terms. Sarisa was conceived on that boat.
Jorah Mormont, who Daenerys decided to marry, felt as if Sarisa was his own child.
Finding a Tutor
Sarisa did not like any of her tutors. She found them boring and drove all of them away. This made it very hard for her parents to find someone to teach her so that she would become a worthy queen.
